Suzuki Motor Corporation is pleased to announce that it will be showing an exciting range of automobiles and motorcycles at the 2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, which will take place from 23 April to 2 May. Suzuki’s key exhibits will be as follows:

Kizashi

The Kizashi is Suzuki’s flagship sedan. It’s sold mainly in North America and Japan. At the 2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Suzuki will be showing two Kizashi versions, one of which is a Sport grade with styling that more strongly emphasizes sportiness. Suzuki’s official Chinese distributor, Suzuki Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., plans to start importing and selling the Kizashi in finished form this June.

Concept Eco-vehicles

Suzuki will be highlighting its eco-technology initiatives in the form of three vehicles on which it’s conducting tests and development: the SWIFT Plug-in Hybrid (an automobile), the BURGMAN Fuel-Cell Scooter (a motorcycle), and the MIO (Fuel Cell-Powered Electric Wheelchair).

Concept model

The SWIFT R is concept car on which Suzuki has blended styling cues from the GSX-R1000 motorcycle with the exterior design of the SWIFT compact car. As an expression of the sportiness that characterizes every Suzuki automobile and motorcycle, the SWIFT R will enhance Suzuki’s brand image.

With a view to increasing its automobile sales in the Chinese market, Suzuki Motor (China) Investment established a Shanghai branch in February this year. With its Shanghai branch at the core of its efforts, Suzuki Motor (China) Investment is working with Changan Suzuki and Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki to establish a network of more than 1,200 dealers by the end of 2010. Suzuki Motor (China) Investment also plans to open a directly managed showroom in Shanghai as its flagship Chinese outlet in 2011.

With regard to motorcycles, Suzuki Motor (China) Investment plans to offer Chinese customers a new kind of riding experience by introducing a number of large-displacement models including the Hayabusa 1300.
