Wagon R and Wagon R Stingray Win 2009 RJC Car of the Year Award

Suzuki Motor Corporation is pleased to announce that the Automotive Researchers’ and Journalists’ Conference of Japan (RJC) has selected the Wagon R and Wagon R Stingray minivehicles for the 2009 RJC Car of the Year award. The Wagon R and Wagon R Stingray jointly form the third RJC Car of the Year winner for Suzuki (following the Wagon R in 1993 and the Swift in 2006).

Overview of the RJC Car of the Year Award

The RJC Car of the Year award was launched in 1992. For the 2009 award, 17 domestic models that were launched in the period from 1 November 2007 to 31 October 2008 were evaluated by 62 jurors. A vote on 4 November narrowed the field to six models, and a vote on 18 November determined the winner.
