Suzuki’s exhibits for the 62nd Frankfurt Motor Show

At the 62nd Frankfurt Motor Show, to be held from 11-23 September 2007*, Suzuki Motor Corporation will be exhibiting the following models:

Splash (compact passenger car)

The Splash is a production car based on the Project Splash concept car that Suzuki exhibited at the Paris Motor Show last September. It’s scheduled for a European launch in spring 2008.

We began the first phase of the Suzuki world strategy in 2004 with the theme of sportiness, which we’ve reflected in successful, internationally launched new models, namely the Swift (a sporty compact car), the Grand Vitara (a full-fledged four-wheel-drive sport utility vehicle), and SX4 (a sport crossover vehicle).

The Splash is the first model in the second phase of our world strategy. Reflecting a new development focus on families who enjoy active lifestyles, it offers an exciting colour scheme, a fresh design, and a driving experience that’s great fun.

For Europe, we’ll be offering the Splash in three grades with a choice of three engines: 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol, 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol, or 1.3L direct-injection diesel. We’re confident that the Splash will drive further sales growth for Suzuki in the world’s family-car markets, where we already have a strong position.

Concept Kizashi (concept car)

Another highlight of the Suzuki booth will be the world premiere of the Concept Kizashi, which gives a glimpse of the direction we’ll be taking in the third phase of our world strategy.

Although Suzuki is known for excellence in compact cars and full-fledged four-wheel-drive sport utility vehicles, we're now getting ready to expand into full-size passenger cars, and the Concept Kizashi highlights this exciting new initiative. In the Concept Kizashi, strength and flexibility are combined in a way that makes the car an impressive status symbol for its owner; a car that never fails to stir the spirit.

SX4 WRC car

Visitors to the Suzuki booth will get a close-up look at the SX4 WRC car with which we’ll be competing in the World Rally Championship from the 2008 season. In October 2007, we’ll be test-running the car in the Rallye de France (the 13th round of the 2007 WRC season) in preparation for its full-season debut.

Other exhibits

The Suzuki booth will also include other exciting products that embody our “Way of Life!” message. The lineup will include production cars such as the Swift, Grand Vitara, and SX4, motorcycles such as the B-King, and marine products such as the DF300 V6 outboard engine.
