The Grand Vitara XL-7
was awarded “4WD of the year” by New Zealand Company Vehicle magazine,
winning the competition against the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Land Rover’s
Freelander, BMW X5, Hyundai Santa Fe, and so on.
According to the magazine, the compactness of the Grand Vitara XL-7 is appreciated
especially around town and on New Zealand’s typical tight off-road tracks.
Its ability to carry four or five people and a decent load is also highly valuated.
Moreover, the magazine says that its performance both on on-road and off-road
is excellent, featuring a 2.7L V6 engine, chassis frame, and selectable low-range
