2001 Queenstown Goldrush International Hill Climb

The Queenstown Goldrush International Hill Climb was held on April 13 to 15.
Mr. Nobuhiro, “Monster”, Tajima challenged the race with the Grand Vitara specially tuned for this race toward the four consecutive champions, and finished in the overall third place.

After repairing the engine damaged by a stone on the course in the middle of the second practice run, he started his final race, but unfortunately encountered another machine trouble.

Mr. Tajima says in the interview after the race, “The center differential may be broken because the front tires are almost new but the rear tires are completely worn.”

He continues, “The result here was not satisfactory enough, but I will win the next Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado, USA.”
