Service Skill Contest Challenges Suzuki Staff in Spain

SPAIN
Suzuki Motor Ibérica, S.A.U. in Madrid
In February, SUZUKI MOTOR IBÉRICA, S.A.U. wrapped up the final stage of the Service Skill Contest for automobile mechanics in Spain, against the backdrop of the Jarama racing circuit in Madrid.
The competition started in October 2006, with three qualification stages: two sets of theoretical examinations that the participants could answer via the internet, and the grand finale, with two practice tests, one each on components and vehicles. Those were followed by a written examination that confirmed Grand Champion Mechanic Roberto Pastor de Lucas as the representative of Spain to compete in the next European Championship. General Director of After-Sales Roger Van Dyck personally awarded prizes to six finalists. Following the presentation, the leading mechanics were treated to an exciting day of driving practice on the circuit itself.
The competition is a valuable technique for motivating the vitally important staff of Suzuki service and maintenance systems to sharpen their basic skills, while staying up-to-date on the latest technologies.
