Teh Mimin makes a stop in Palembang city |
A valued Suzuki customer in Indonesia, Mrs. Mimin Weliyana, recently made a 5,000-kilometre tour from Tasikmalaya to Medan and back on a Suzuki SPIN scooter. Although the 51-year-old made the trip alone, upon her arrival in Jakarta, the Suzuki Club welcomed her with a ceremony and party.
“Teh Mimin”, as she is called by friends and acquaintances, had a purpose for her ambitious Java and Sumatra tour. Besides promoting the SPIN in each city, she wanted to show people in Indonesia - especially women - that people should not underestimate Indonesian women: a lady also has the spirit required to cross the island. And with her SPIN, she was confident of reaching Medan and returning to Tasikmalaya with no problems at all.
“Teh Mimin” left Tasikmalaya on 3 May, went through Bandung and reached Jakarta that day, where she was welcomed at the head office of PT. Indomobil Suzuki International (ISI) by Suzuki Club members Suandi Widiarto, Tommy E. and Tato. From Jakarta, she toured through at least seven cities to Medan. From Medan, she started the return trip on 13 May and toured many other towns to arrive safely in Jakarta on 21 May. |
