Suzuki Police Bikes Guard Canadian G8 Summit
 During the 2002 G8 Summit held 26 - 27 June in Kananaskis, Alberta, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used seven Suzuki DR650s to protect the world leaders at the Summit. The Suzuki DR650s - proudly supplied in police-bike specifications by Suzuki Canada Inc. (SCI) - were chosen for dual-sport capabilities, ideal engine size and the ability to handle varied road surfaces and rugged terrain at the Summit site.
Bolivian Service Manager
and Friends Challenge Tough Adventure Tour on DR650s
 Early last year, Mr. Jorge Laguna, Service Department Manager of Suzuki's Bolivian distributor, Imcruz Corp. S.A., took a long adventure tour with three friends from Santa Cruz west to Uyuni, the largest salt lake in the world.
Mr. Laguna and his friends chose Suzuki DR650 motorcycles for the tour, which started in January 2002 and covered 2,600km in 15 days. Despite challenging high altitude and mostly unpaved roads without technical support, the DR650s and their riders came through in excellent condition, with only the inevitable tyre blowouts due to rough roads. Says Mr. Laguna, "The engine of DR650 stayed powerful and always lived up to its potential."
