Launches of 2006 New DF150 and DF175 Models Impress Boat Builders and Dealers
The French city Nice provided the backdrop for the industry launch of Suzuki Marine’s DF150 and DF175 models on 25–27 August, 2005. Suzuki gathered about 300 dealers and boat builders from 21 countries across Europe to sample the on-water performance of these highly rated, new fuel-injected 4-cylinder 4-stroke motors, all across the power band. Delegates reported ‘superb torque and acceleration’, ‘incredibly low noise levels’, ‘impressive power to weight ratio’ and ‘so smooth’. The delegates returned home excited by the new possibilities the engines offer both to the leisure market and the professional user. Suzuki Canada Inc. officially introduced the new outboards to about 60 marine dealers at a meeting in Muskoka, Ontario on 17–19 September. Twenty boats from independent manufacturers on the docks at Lake Rosseau during the meeting enabled Suzuki dealers and marine media representatives to experience the performance of a range of Suzuki outboards. Enrollment of 17 new dealers since the unveiling of the newest outboards gives 125 Suzuki Marine dealerships across Canada. Not content with doubling sales in three years, Suzuki is shooting for more in 2006. Says Len Hughes, Suzuki’s assistant national sales manager for marine products, “We’re being aggressive.” |
