Marine Shows in Africa, Middle and Near East a Success for Suzuki

The Third Suzuki Marine Distributors’ Conference was held 25 January at Al Bustan Hotel in Dubai, with the cooperation of AUTO SPORT LLC, Suzuki Marine distributor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Twenty-five participants from eight distributorships reviewed sales activities in 2004 and exchanged opinions on 2005 sales promotions, maintenance service, parts supply for large 4-stroke outboard motors and other important issues.
On 12–20 February, the Istanbul Boat Show at CNR EXPO Center included displays of Suzuki’s appealing 4-stroke outboard motors, DF200 and DF250, highlighting the models’ environment-friendly features. Visitors numbered about 38,000, including 1,050 from abroad, an 8,000 increase over last year.
At the Dubai International Boat Show held on 15–19 March, Suzuki displayed the DF250, DF225 and DF200, large V6 4-stroke outboard motors which are already popular in the marine market and gaining favour over 2-strokes in the Middle and Near East markets.
Algeria’s second fair of fishing and aquaculture – SIPA 2005 – held from 29 March to 2 April with 80 exhibitors, was also a big success for Suzuki, who welcomed more than 2,000 visitors. Enthusiastic response to Suzuki’s larger 4-stroke outboards promises growth of sales in the Algerian market.

Innovative Installation of Suzuki 4-stroke Outboard Motors by Chilean Distributor
Houseboat with twin 4-stroke outboard DF70s

The excellent quality and high technology of Suzuki 4-stroke outboard motors, together with the outstanding performance of a team from DERCO, Suzuki Motor Corporation distributor in Chile, enabled the construction of an unusual houseboat on Rapel Lake in the sixth region near Santiago.
The houseboat designer and owner, DERCO customer Francisco Montes, was extremely pleased with the twin Suzuki DF70s, as well as the challenging installation and adjustment work handled by DERCO technicians. The motors answered the unique requirements of the project and performed superbly in operative testing and adjustment.
