V6 Engine Test Ride Impresses Marine Distributor Conference in South Africa

Twenty participants from eight major marine distributors in the Middle East and Africa gathered at the Marine Distributors·Conference at Cape Town of the Republic of South Africa, 13·5 January. Blessed by fine weather, the second conference included a V6 engine test ride event with five boats that impressively demonstrated the power and quietness of the V6 engine.
The event signaled once again that the marine market, which is now dominated by the 2-stroke outboard motors, will continue to increase demand for 4-stroke outboard motors.

Montgomery Motors Holds V6 Seminar in Hawaii

The Montgomery Brothers - Al, Stafford, and Brett - held a V6 seminar on 23 February at Montgomery Motors in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The president, Mr. Al Montgomery, stated that the event was a success. The all-day seminar, based on a technical briefing Stafford Montgomery received in Japan, was designed to provide the most current information to dealers and prepare them to provide the best possible service to their Suzuki customers. All seven Suzuki Marine dealers in the Montgomery Motors network, some coming from other islands, attended the presentation of V6 engines followed by practical work on an operational DF250.
The 4-stroke Suzuki outboard motors, which have been well-received by the people of Hawaii, are especially popular with the fishermen who have to travel long distances over open ocean to reach their fishing grounds. "The dependability and superior fuel economy of the Suzuki outboards make them easy to sell" said Brett Montgomery.

Adventurer Chooses Suzuki V6 4-stroke for Arctic Challenge

The youngest Briton to have climbed Mt Everest, Bear Grylls, recently led the first group to cross the North Atlantic in an open RIB (Rigid-hull Inflatable Boat).
Grylls turned to Ocean Dynamics International to build his 11m RIB with an 8m deep V aluminium hull powered by the world-leading Suzuki V6 4-stroke DF250.
Bear's sea trials at Ramsey Island in Southwest Wales and his book launch on the Thames in April proved that the engine was more than equal to extraordinary rip tides and strong currents. Having chosen Suzuki ahead of other manufacturers, Bear was certain he'd made the right choice and his boat builder agreed.
