American Suzuki Holds 2003 National Sales Meeting At
the American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) national sales meeting of the marine division
held 4 August in Biloxi, Mississippi, ASMC announced that the 2002 model outboard
motor DF140 has earned the highest US sales of any Suzuki outboard in history
and superb customer satisfaction index rating.Despite the precipitous drop in overall boat and motor sales in US since 2000, Suzukis outboard market share has steadily increased, thanks to aggressive development of new 4-stroke outboards. Nobody has converted from 2-stroke to 4-stroke technology faster than Suzuki, said Mr. Manabu Nakamura, Senior General Manager of Marine & Power Products Division for Suzuki Motor Corporation at the meeting, expressing his gratitude to dealers for the successful sales campaign. He also unveiled a plan to introduce the first prototype of production models slated for 2004, the Suzuki V-6 4-strokes, at the Miami Boat Show this coming February. Conference of Middle East and African Distributors in Cyprus The
first conference of Suzuki Marine distributors from regions of the Middle East
and Africa was held 15 October in Larnaca, Cyprus with cooperation of A. Tricomitis
LTD., Suzuki Marines Cypriot distributor. Twenty participants from 13 distributors
discussed the current market trend from 2- to 4-stroke outboard motors and projections
of sales growth in the region.On the second day, the participants enjoyed test rides in boats powered by
DF140 and DF115 4-stroke outboards.Suzuki Outboards Make a Splash at Sea World Suzuki
4-stroke outboard motors quiet, environment-friendly and hard-working
are helping educate and entertain visitors to the Sea World Adventure Park in
San Diego, California, thanks to an agreement making Suzuki the Featured Outboard
Motor supplier to the USAs pre-eminent marine theme park. There are several Suzuki motors on Sea Worlds fleet of workboats, including 70-, 40- and 15-HP 4-stroke outboards.
