4-Stroke Outboard Motor a Life Saver
 Thanks
to the fuel efficiency and quiet idling of a Suzuki 4-stroke outboard motor DF115,
four divers lost far offshore from Palau’s capital city of Koror lived to
tell the story of their close call.
In January this year, four sightseeing divers failed to return to a diver-pickup
boat in the area. Although 20 boats responded to the captain’s SOS, most
were equipped with 2-stroke outboard motors without the low gas consumption required
to complete long-term searches.
Only one boat, equipped with the Suzuki 4-stroke outboard motor DF115, lasted
until just before sundown, when the divers were finally found. Thanks to the DF115’s
quiet running, the lost divers were located by the sound of an air horn they sounded,
which only had three minutes of air left when they were found.
DF90 Chosen for Rescue Boat
 When
the Republic of Korea this year introduced a speedboat racing as a government-authorized
gambling sport, Hwa Chang Trading Co., Ltd. delivered a Suzuki DF90 to Seoul Speedboat
Racing Union to be used in the race’s official rescue boat. The 4-stroke
DF90 was chosen for the important rescue job because of its low emissions and
fast-starting electronic fuel injection system.
