Grand Vitara Takes Italian Tout Terrain Championship

Grand Vitara drives to triumph in Italy
Suzuki automobile performances in the 2007 Italian Tout Terrain Championship (ITTC) races and a "Suzuki Challenge" have boosted the Suzuki brand image in Italy.
The Suzuki Italia Works team entered two vehicles in ITTC 2007: a 2.7 litre V6 Grand Vitara and the "Super" Jimny. The constantly refined Grand Vitara triumphed in the end, taking the championship with Suzuki Italia driver Lorenzo Codeca. "The car has always been fast, now it has become also reliable and therefore a winning car!" enthused the new champion. The Super Jimny finished in tenth place.
In the "Suzuki Challenge", 16 private drivers of basically standard Grand Vitaras confirmed the model’s high reliability over varied ITTC terrain that tests the limits of mechanical endurance. Suzuki Italia will add the "Suzuki Rally Cup" to the ITTC 2008 season, with expected participation of 25 Swifts.

SIE (Germany) Hosts Suzuki Off-Road Camp: Feel the Spirit

The innovative new 4x4 "Roadeo" course
The Suzuki Off-Road Camp has become a popular event since 2005, generating good PR and brand loyalty with German off-road drivers. Suzuki International Europe (Germany) initiated the camp and has hosted 20 trips per year for a total of almost 1,000 off-road fans of varied driving experience, from managers and staff of car dealerships to owners and raffle winners. The three-day trips include meals and comfortable accommodations.
German off-road legend and former Paris-Dakar Rally motorcycle champion Richard Schalber helps four experienced instructors coach drivers in off-road handling and special technical tips. The course covers about 1,500km of adventurous terrain, including eroded country roads, woods and rocky hills with slopes of more than 80%.
Drivers who complete the challenging course receive a distinctive Suzuki Off-Road Camp Certificate. From 2008, the Jimny teaching cars will be replaced by the threedoor Grand Vitaras. Further information: www.suzuki-wayoflife.com
