Magyar Suzuki Kicks Off Ignis Production

Magyar Suzuki Corporation (MSC) celebrated the start of production
of the new Ignis at the Esztergom plant in Hungary with a line-off ceremony on
10 April, attended by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy, Japanese Ambassador
to Hungary Kazuo Matsumoto and Chairman and CEO of Suzuki Motor Corporation Osamu
Suzuki.
Suzuki plans annual production of 55,000 units of the new Ignis, which is available
with the DDiS diesel engine, as well as 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engine
versions. Also at the press conference, MSC announced Suzuki Motor Corporationês
equity participation in Suzuki Sport Europe, which will produce and sell Ignis-based
rally vehicles and accessories.

Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Minoru Shibuya, visited the
countrys Pak Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. 29 November 2002. Pak Suzukis
Managing Director Yasuo Suzuki, Executive Director Katsuichiro Ota, and Director
of Administration and Personnel Maj Sagheer Ahmed gave the Ambassador a complete
tour of the production line and explained the recent operation of the company,
which has achieved 70% localization as a leader in Pakistans automotive
industry.
Pak Suzuki also increased production 37% in last calendar year under the favourably
turning market condition.

Suzuki SUVs Serving Kuwait
Mustafa Karam & Sons Gen Trad. & Cont. Co. W.L.L. (MK), Suzuki
Motor Corporation distributor in Kuwait since 1974, achieved brilliant sales growth
during 2002 of 230% over the previous year.
MK supplied about 1,200 units of Suzuki vehicles -80% of them the newly launched
Liana and Grand Vitara XL-7 -to the government and oil sectors during 2002. Among
them, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, a user of Suzuki SUVs for the last
five years, selected the Grand Vitara XL-7 for its fleet within Kuwait, and the
National Petroleum Company purchased a fleet of 450 Lianas for transportation
inside its refineries.
