Covie Concept Vehicle Named Best Environmental Car The
Suzuki Covie concept vehicle has won the Automotive News Concept Car of
the Year Awards in the Best Environmental category. First exhibited at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, the Covie is a compact electric vehicle aimed at preserving the global environment and full of fun ideas and futuristic utilities, including an active link with information technologies. Grand Vitara XL-7 was named 4WD Vehicle of the Year by New Zealand Company Vehicle
and Executive Cars magazine.The magazine cited the Grand Vitara XL-7s compact size as well suited to New Zealands town driving and tight off-road tracks, as well as the models generous passenger and load capacities. Also praised was the excellent on- and off-road performance afforded by the XL-7s 2.7-litre V6 engine. Magyar Suzuki Celebrates 500,000 Mark On
28 March, Magyar Suzuki Corporation, Hungary celebrated the cumulative production
of 500,000 vehicles since production start up in October 1992 at their plant in
Esztergom. Mr. F. Latorcai, Parliament member representing Esztergom area and
Mr. T. Meggyes, Mayor of Esztergom, joined the ceremony attended by journalists,
suppliers and Magyar Suzuki employees. After Managing Director T. Kondos
message, Mr. Latorcai, Mr. Meggyes and Mr. Sz. Foldvári, representing the
employees, joined Mr. Kondo to cut the ribbon in front of a Wagon R+, the plants
500,000th vehicle.The commemorative Wagon R+ will be highlighted in a Hungarian sales promotion campaign and then delivered to the purchasing customer with a ceremony at the dealership. |
