To help the driver avoid hazards on the road, the Splash has an anti-lock braking system, brake-assist function and electronic brake-force distribution and is available with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) that modulates the engine performance and applies the brakes in a way that helps to prevent a loss of control.
In case of a mishap, the body structure is made from high-strength steels at critical points and incorporates crumple zones that maximise impact-energy absorption and dispersion for maximum occupant protection.
The cabin incorporates six airbags (two front airbags, two seat-side airbags and two curtain airbags that extend into the rear), front-seatbelt pretensioners and force limiters, and foot-protecting brake and clutch pedals that mitigate injuries in the event of a collision. (The seatbelt pretensioners almost instantaneously tighten the belts at the beginning of a frontal collision to maximise occupant restraint, and the force limiters then loosen the belts in a controlled manner to minimise the impact on the chests of occupants.) The driver has a visual seatbelt reminder, and energy-absorbent trim materials are positioned near occupants’ heads.
For child safety, the rear seat incorporates ISOFIX child-seat anchorages with tether anchorages. An airbag deactivation system for the front passenger seat is available to enable mounting of a child seat there. And in case the Splash collides with a pedestrian, its front end incorporates energy-absorbing structures.
Reliability and quality are among the core values of the Suzuki brand, so the Splash, like every other Suzuki model, comes with a comprehensive three-year (or 100,000 km) warranty.
