We can’t speak of Suzuki’s advances without mentioning our partnerships in countries around the globe. Overseas motorcycle production began in 1968 in Thailand and expanded to include Indonesia in 1970. Overseas automobile production began soon after, with Pakistan coming on board first in 1975, followed by Indonesia (1976), India (1983), and Hungary (1992). Tough, high-quality Suzuki products are now produced by 27 firms in 19 countries and regions, and are sold in 208 countries and regions. Suzuki sold 2.92 million automobiles and 1.37 million motorcycles worldwide in the fiscal year 2016. Suzuki will continue to play a major role in the world’s motorisation.
